I like to read and absorb the positive attitude verses of
the Psalms. Yes, there are times when
the Psalms speak to us concerning our sinful ways, our impure hearts, or even
our neglect to properly honor God. But
today, let's look at some positives from Psalm 34. My prayer is that you will be blessed by
these refreshing words.
I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.
Now notice how personal David's words
become. May these words speak to your
hearts as one who extols the Lord at all times.
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
Now is David's invitation for you to see
for yourself how good God is.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Yes, there is more......much more, but from
three brief sections of this Psalm, we receive a spiritual "pep
rally" in coming to know the Lord's praise is always on our lips, he
answers when we seek him, our faces need never be covered with shame, we will
be saved from our troubles, we shall be delivered.
Read the rest of the Psalm and count the
blessings that are promised. The last verse of this Psalm carries the greatest
of the promises. 22 The Lord will
rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
Go ahead.......... Taste and see that the Lord is
good.
