Christ in You

Knowing the history of Saul of Tarsus, his conversion and 180 degree change from persecuting Christians to making Christians, his journeys to spread the good news.....on and on the list goes. He is better known as Paul, the apostle; preacher, encourager, church planter and sinner. Yes, Paul knew he was a sinner and confessed he was guilty of doing wrong things and failing to do right things. Yet he was chosen by God to be a messenger of the good news about Jesus. Look closely at just one example.

Colossians 1:24-27
24 Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. 25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

None of us could equal the accomplishments of Paul, however that doesn't stop us from being a servant. Yes, in the same way Paul was commissioned, you and I are commissioned by Jesus himself to reach the lost for him. How is that commission thing working for you?

As a fellow-sinner with Paul, do you think less of him because he is handling such an important mission for God? Isn't it amazing how God picks those with imperfect backgrounds, to be his witness, or to accomplish great things? (That includes you and me.)

Who will you unravel the mystery to first? There is a need in your community and your neighborhood to spread the news that "Christ in you, is the hope of glory."
