"31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced
that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, 39 neither
height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate
us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:31-38
Did you
read all of that? I am probably partial
to this section of scripture, but for me, this is the boost I need when I am
having a bad day, the medicine that cures life's pitfalls, and the
encouragement to face all things negative. I point you to the proof and the power by
dissecting the verses so we can all see the big picture of God's love for us. Read
and contemplate the following statements carefully.
"If
God is for us, who can be against us?"
(The one that really counts is FOR us, and the one's against us don't
really count!)
"He
who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also
along with him, graciously give us all things?" (God gave us his Son, and will also join the
Son is graciously giving us everything.)
Since my
space is limited, you can take the rest of that paragraph one sentence at a
time and see how God is telling us we are important to him. Jesus is
interceding for us and nothing can separate us from his love. We are more than conquerors through him who
loved us.
Pick
yourself up, flow in the power that is yours in Christ, and keep on pressing
forward in your journey toward the eternal reward. No matter how bad it gets, you must remember
God is on your side.
More
proof and power will be evident to you if you will memorize those last two
verses. Make them a part of your
continued success in living for and serving God.
"38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither
angels nor demons, neither the present
nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in
Christ Jesus our Lord."
