The Lord's Day

Today is the Lord's Day, the day of worship throughout the Christian world. It is a time for us to reflect on God's love and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, as well as the victory that belongs to us because Jesus rose from the grave.

When you are in your time of worship today, be blessed by the music and appreciate those who lead it. Pay special attention to the words you sing to God; words of praise, words of adoration, words of petition. As voices join voices, be an encouragement to each other. Worship is deeply rooted in loving God and in the fellowship and love we have toward one another.

During the quietness of your special time of communion, remembering the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, focus on how loved you are because God gave his Son to die for your sins. Know that your fellowship of Christians stand for right relationships, God's truth, and the kinds of examples that he expects from us, not only in our times of group worship, but in our daily lives.

Listen intently to the preaching of the word. Bible scriptures will no doubt be given that have close connections to your walk with God. Encourage fellow worshipers through your association with God's word. Reflect on Bible teachings and fit them into your experiences.

My prayers today will include each of you and the time we spend together. I pray God will bless our assembly, and each grow in greater demonstrations of Christ-likeness in this journey we call life.
