Here is your weekend challenge: Spend a few moments Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, in reading and in prayer for peace, through some of the most
encouraging verses in Scripture. Enter
your time of prayer and meditation about the encouragement we receive from the
Prince of Peace, with determination to overcome all the cares and concerns of
this world, and live in his peace.
Here are the verses for you to consider:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you;
my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your
hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 16:33 I have said these things
to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation.
But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Romans 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on
the Spirit is life and peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of
Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be
thankful.
When your peace is threatened with
turmoil and Satan is reminding you how terrible your situation is, lean on the
peace Jesus gives.
When medical issues bring you down, and
your prognosis is not good, hold on to the peace Jesus gives.
When personal relationships go awry and
anger tries to gain control, know these issues can be repaired and
relationships strengthened when all cling to the peace Jesus gives.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Three days for you to learn, strengthen, and
share your life in the peace Jesus gives.
