We have the mind of Christ


How is your mental condition?  How is your thinking?  Do you still have those days when you think you are losing your mind?  Is it news to you when someone suggests a vital part of Christianity  has to do with the mind?

This weekend I am hoping we will center our entire weekend toward having the mind of Christ. This is in contrast to the words many believers who confess they have times of unbelief, fear, and even doubt. So you have the weekend to consider some verses of scripture with the intent of sharpening our minds for God.

1 Corinthians 2:16 ESV “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Romans 12:2 ESV  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 ESV The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:5 ESV Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

1 Corinthians 2:13-16 ESV And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV /  For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Another verse for you to consider, and one that fits so nicely into the above list: Philippians 4:8. It's the one I hope you really appreciate and come to understand in developing the mind of Christ.  " Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
