Search your life. If there is a need for hope, realize you are God's child. Know even at your lowest, it is God that supplies the hope to get you through. 1 John 3:2-3 "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure."
Have you ever had a day that could only be described as being "dark?" A lot of times, these days are caused by our disobedience. There are, however, times when the circumstances of life seem to work against us, and that makes for a dark day. Remember one of the verses we looked at in yesterday's blog, again from the pen of John. 1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
All of us feel weak sometimes. We give in to temptation, followed by sin. Then follows the guilt. We even describe ourselves as weak. What do you suppose would have happened if we had claimed and depended on God's strength? Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me."
One of the strongest attacks Satan brings upon the child of God is sadness. When we are genuinely sad, we cannot function as God ordained. Sadness comes in the form of grief, sorrow, hurt and disappointment. Isaiah 49:13 "Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones."
Our God is an AWESOME God!
